HISTORY

In a beautiful environment along the Gironde estuary, Le Manoir de La Sauvageonne that dates largely from the 18th century with the oldest part dating back to the 16th century, was until the French revolution, the residence of  the king’s tax collectors

In the 19th century, it became the residence of Monsieur le Chevalier d’Arliguie, who was at that time commander of the citadel of Blaye.

The property remained in the same family for several generations until 1993.

Today, Le Manoir de La Sauvageonne has become a very appreciated bed and breakfast that welcomes guests in rooms or cottages, with many repeat guests

SETTING

Our home is a beautifully restored “maison de maître” with three holiday suites, two self-catering cottages, and the main manor on 8 acres of wooded land.

The entire property is surrounded by the vineyards of Côte de Blaye. The flowered gardens and large swimming pool along with a sauna and jacuzzi make for an ideal setting for those looking to get away from it all.
