La Sauvageonne is an ideal destination for wine lovers and lies central to many of the regions vineyards. A half of an hour to the south, you can drive to many excellent vineyards near Blaye, Bourg, and further on to Saint Emillion. If you head north, you’ll reach the beaches of Royan in under 45 minutes and the distilleries of Cognac. To the west, a car-ferry can transport you to the renown wineries of Margaux, Pauillac, and Saint Estèphe in the Médoc.
Nature Trails and Cycling
The municipalities of Saint Palais and Saint Ciers have taken great effort to develop walking and cycling circuits. Enjoy an early morning stroll through the vineyards or a jog watching the sunset over the estuary. For cyclists and nature lovers, the parks of Terre d’oiseaux and Vitrezay provide an ideal setting to enjoy the outdoors. Both destinations are only a few kilometers from La Sauvageonne.
Along the Gironde you will reach the beaches of ROYAN and the coast of light in just over 45 minutes.
Golfers will choose Bordeaux-lac, Le Médoc, Royan or nearby Montendre.
Children won’t be the only ones to enjoy a visit to La Palmyre Zoo.
